‘Didamangisa’
80cm x 100cm
acrylic on canvas
2024

This exhibition explored the profound alienation of the individual within a society that systematically excludes the feminine principle and the power of intuition from its structures. The paintings serve as a visual manifestation of how this systemic displacement leads to a chronic inner void, stripping the individual of the sense of being "at home" within their own body.
By analyzing the historical suppression of feminine archetypes, the project highlights the direct link between the loss of inner connection and modern phenomena such as chronic loneliness and compensatory consumption. At its core, the work focuses on mental health: the pieces function as a visual diagnosis of an emotionally impoverished infrastructure that weakens individual resilience.
Finding Home within Ourselves creates an essential platform for discourse, advocating for a healing reconnection to the self and a reclamation of the intuitive spaces within.

From the reclamation of womanhood in HEROINE I and HEROINE II, to the ancestral whispers of DIDAMANGISA, the generational trauma pressed into HUNDRED YEARS OF UNREST SITTING ON MY SHOULDERS, and the mental unrest exposed in UNTITLED, the works invite us to sit with discomfort, remembrance, and resilience.
This is not an exhibition that asks to be decoded, but one that asks to be felt. FINDING HOME WITHIN OURSELVES is about reckoning. And survival.
