THE WEIGHT WITHIN
The Weight Within is an evocative exploration of the unseen burdens we carry—both inherited and self-imposed. Through a series of surreal and deeply symbolic paintings, the collection delves into themes of identity, femininity, cultural heritage, and the haunting nature of inner struggles. Each piece serves as a window into the artist’s psyche, offering a visual narrative that is at once personal and universal.

“Many people struggle to feel at home within themselves. In a society that has stripped femininity from our physical and psychological makeup, connecting with our inner world and finding comfort in a harsh reality becomes difficult. Femininity and softness have become rare—both criticised and deeply desired.
To cope with this internal conflict, many turn to substance abuse as a way to access their emotional side and temporarily bridge the gap between the masculine and feminine aspects of human nature.
With this collection of artworks, I aim to shed light on this issue through the symbol of the poppy flower. Known for its use in morphine extraction, the poppy represents both beauty and death, embodying the complex relationship between relief and suffering.”
